Here is one of my girls from Tuesday nights. I just love how this shows her sassy in her pose but also her vulnerability in her eyes.

2.27.10... At the Barn
So... I know it's been awhile but I haven't given up on this. It's just that, well, it's been very WHITE and BLAH around here for the last 2&1/2 weeks and I just couldn't find anything that looked well, interesting. I know, excuses. My husband went to feed his hunting buddy's dogs at the feed store, so I tagged along. Lots of cool things to photograph... it was just too cold to stand outside for very long. Fortunately some of the wild things came close to me.

2.5.10... Let's have a Conversation
I used to love these hearts when I was a kid. Every Valentine's Day everyone would exchange cards with each other in our home room class. Well, at least till 7th grade. Every once in a while someone would give the conversation hearts in the box. I loved them. I would go through the box and pick one out for each of my friends. Man things seem so much simpler back then. Once again my little dog.

2/1/10... Winter Sun

31/365...Snowy Road
It snowed at my house this weekend... again. This one was not that bad; just 8-10 inches instead of the 15-18 last big one we had in December, the one everyone on the East Coast had. But none the less today was beautiful with a gorgeous blue sky meeting the white snow on the horizon. Again, I am so thankful I live in the country.

25/365 & 26/365...Barn and Pasta
Monday 1/25/10...
On my way back out Monday to the store I had to stop and take this photo. Some days around here the sun makes everything so beautiful. Even an old dairy barn. I love where I live. The fields, the cows, the barns... Such a wonderful place.
Tuesday 1/26/10...
Another LifeChange dinner. Baked Pasta this week. Not sure what we'll have for next week. I tried out a new recipe on the kids, Chicken Pot Pie. They really seemed to like it. I told them I would add it to the menu rotation.
Wednesday we had a funeral at our Church for a precious lady who passed away on Sunday. While we will miss her she in no longer in pain and is where she would most want to be.
Thursday 01/28/10... His Provision
Thursday we helped at the Food House for His Provision. Lots of people to help out and lots of people who needed help.
Friday 01/29/10... Celebrated my Birthday! How do we celebrate around here? By staying in and watching movies. Well, actually today too, we got snowed in had nowhere else to go today.
So this is another look into my life. I need a nap after reading this again.

15/365 - 23/365... Scenes from the week
My week was a little crazy. That is an understatement, but I was able to take pictures. I just didn't get to post any of them. So here is what you missed out on...
15/365... Office Plant
More scenes from my work place. Here is the plant from the waiting area. Exciting stuff I know. Next...
16/365...
I spent the entire day reading on my new Sony Reader. Some Saturdays I just have to completely be non responsible and kick back and do something for myself. I have discovered that I am going to have to buy a $20 gift card from Books on Board at the beginning of each month and limit myself to only that amount of ebooks. Otherwise I will spend my entire paycheck on them. I love downloading books. No trip to the store, no waiting, and buying books at 2am is ok.
17/365... Sound Board
Occasionally I help out at church by running sound for the Morning Worship Service. I am the last one on the list, but it turned out everyone else was out of town or busy so I got the call. Wasn't too bad. I kinda like running sound but it is way too stressful to do every week.
18/365... Weights
Another scene from the gym at work. If I get enough of these that I like I may enlarge them and hang them in the gym.
19/365... Breakfast for dinner
On Tuesday nights I cook for our youth ministry here at church. LifeChange meets on Tuesday nights and we minister to at-risk teens in the community. Starting at 6:15pm we open the doors and the kids have a safe place to play basketball, eat dinner, play video games and just hang out. My husband is the Youth Pastor and I am the cook. I'm sure I will be showing you more dinners as the year goes on. My kids love when I fix pancakes and eggs. I also have salad available every week in case they don't like what I'm fixing. This week will be Baked Spaghetti. YUM!
20/365... Wednesday Night Girls
On Wednesdays we have our InHouse group. Different group but same thing involved. Here are a few of my girls.
21/365... Ice Storm
We got to go home early on Thursday due to impending bad weather. I was shocked but did not look a gift horse in the mouth. I left when it was time to scoot. I'm glad I did, it turned nasty out there.
22/365... Date Night at the Movies
My husband and I, along with some friends, went out to eat and then to a movie. "The Book of Eli", excellent movie. Not for the faint of heart, it is rated R for a reason, it was truly a good movie.
23/365... Why does my stomach hurt?
We took some of the kids snow tubing on Saturday. The adults don't actually tube, we sit in the Lodge and play cards. And eat. And eat. And eat some more. Here is a sample of the carby (really, is that even a word) goodness we assailed our system with. It is not recommended for the faint of stomach.

14/365... Part of my work life
For the daytime part of my life I work at a Physical Therapy Clinic. In the back office, nothing exciting like actual patient contact. I figured since I was attempting to document my daily life I had better include my paying job. We have a full gym and Wellness Program we encourage our patients to use. Here is some of the equipment with which we use to torture, I mean therapize our patients.

13/365...Mason ready to Play
It that time of year again. That time of year where you go to an old, cramped, dimly lit gym and watch a young family member "play" basketball with 9 other boys his size. Running up and down the court as one massive unit until one breaks away from the pack and throws the ball towards goal. The parents and other family members cringing in the bleachers hoping that their little guy is throwing the ball at the correct goal. That's right folks it's time for Rec Basketball! Here is my nephew Mason as he waits his turn on the sidelines. And it's not that bad to watch him, he is actually pretty good.

11/365... Dinner time around here
Around here dinner time is an extremely casual affair. One of us is at the table while the other is usually at the computer or in the kitchen. The one constant no matter who is eating or where is Rabbit. The Beagle. The stomach on 4, sometimes 2 legs. No matter, we love her. (Please excuse the wall behind her, we are in the process of remodeling and as it turns out there are only so many hours in a day.)

6/365... More Lewis
Since everyone loved my last shot of Lewis, here he is in lovin' action.
Sorry there was no post yesterday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are so busy for me. They are not my days, they definitely belong to others. I will try to plan ahead on the weekends for these days, I just won't be able to post photos from that particular day. But I do hope to post something. Have a blessed Wednesday!

3/365... gloves
Here in Virginia it is cold. And not just a little cold, but a lot COLD and WINDY. The two things that hurt worse than anything else this time of year. Except for maybe not having gloves on and hitting your hand on something hard. But anyhoo... The weather man is saying that it is going to stay cold for at least the next 10 days. Then it will warm up to the mid 30's. For those of you in the northern parts of the US and above this is pretty normal, but for us here in South, that is (how can I put it? oh yeah) COLD. So to celebrate the cold here are my new pair of gloves. A Christmas gift from my dear husband. A WARM Christmas gift. So to all of you out there that are colder than me; more power to ya.

2/365
So far, So good as the old saying goes. Had a hard time deciding between three finished photos, I let my husband decide for me and I think he did well.
For some this is 'old lady candy' but to me it is a warm Christmas memory. They take me back to my Me-Maw's house at Christmas time. Nestled in a nobby milk glass bowl they called to me every Christmas. I would creep into the living room, pick out a red or yellow or stripped one and sneak back out of that ornate room as quietly as I could. I don't know why I thought I shouldn't get caught. They wouldn't have cared. But I guess I felt is was all part of the game. Anyway... these candies were left at the office on Thursday and I decided I would like to take a trip down memory lane.

January 1, 2010
Ok folks, here we go. I have never really liked the idea of "Resolutions". They just seem so final, so demanding, so concrete. Like there is no room for error. I need a little flexibility in my life, a little room to mess up. As it turns out messing up is one of the things I excel at, no really.
This year I decided to set several goals for myself, some are personal and some are related to my love of photography. This is by no means an original idea but hey, I've got to start somewhere, and as Zack Arias says... sometimes you just have to GOYA (Get Off Your Ass) and shoot something. This is my attempt to fulfill my goal of shooting more, of finding good stuff around me, of not letting laziness and excuses stop me from doing something I dearly love (would that be three goals? Anyhoo...).
What to expect this year? Well, expect some photography. No really, some really good photography and I'm sure some not so good photography. But photography none the less. I'm sure you will get to see some up close places and pieces of my home, my pets, and my life, but hopefully you will get to see my world as I see it. In all of it's beauty and all of it's pain, in all of it's stillness and in all of it's craziness. And you might get some of my commentary along the way.
So, get settled in and buckled up and get ready to enjoy the ride that is my life!
